Civilization Revolution Preview & Release Date

Civilization is a turn based strategy game where you build up a nation starting from scratch, managing everything about the nation from commerce and where to build building structures, to war and relations with other nations. You can take over the world by means of war, technology, or even commerce, but you will need to subdue all those other nations fighting for survival throughout the span of history, ranging from cavemen to nuclear weapons. There are 16 civilizations to play as or against offline and online.

Civilization Revolution

You start as a lone settler with only one millitary unit in the year 4,000 bc. Then you found a city and start exploring. As your city starts to grow you will need to set production priorities for new settlers to expand your nation, new and improved military units, and lots of civic structures. You also need to set research priorities so your nation can advance as the years advance.

The world maps will be randomly generated each time you start a new game, so that should provide for lots of different layouts, so each time you play through the game you won’t be playing the same map with same layout. This means each time you start a new game, you will have to learn the layout and best locations for cities again, which should add lots of replay value.

The online mode is also coming along nicely with features that include ranked games, auto matching, online leaderboards, achievements, downloadable extra content and voice and video chat.

The game is set to release for PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS June 3, 2008.

My opinion: The game looks really good, and should provide tons of gameplay hours in single player alone. Add in an online mode which sounds really promising, and you’ve got one great game heading your way.
